Redlands, CA / Austin, TX (December 7, 2010) – Renovis Surgical Technologies, Inc. announced today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Calvary Spine, LLC, of Baltimore, Maryland. This partnership allows Renovis to distribute the Petra™ and Crescent™ PEEK interbody spacers produced by Calvary Spine.
Interbody spacers are used in lumbar and cervical spinal fusion surgery, and this product range features ease of implantation and multiple footprints and geometries to accommodate various patient anatomies. The spacers are manufactured from industry-standard PEEK-Optima®, a radiolucent material, which is translucent when viewed on x-ray films and allows the surgeon to monitor the progression of bone healing.
The announcement of this partnership adds two new products to the Renovis spine product line. These spacers are used with the Renovis S100™ Spine System, which was introduced in 2012, thus expanding the spine business unit’s revenue-per-surgery.
